1. About Tutionist
Tutionist connects parents and students in Islamabad and Rawalpindi with home and online tutors. We help match tutors based on a student’s grade, subject, board or curriculum, and family preferences, and support both parents looking for a tutor and tutors looking for tutoring opportunities.
Tutionist acts as a matching and referral service between families and independent tutors. Tuition itself is arranged and delivered directly between the parent and the tutor, and Tutionist’s role is to identify a suitable match, support the trial process, and provide ongoing assistance where needed.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By contacting Tutionist, using our website, or arranging tutoring services through us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please get in touch with us before proceeding so we can address your concerns.
3. Tutoring Services
Tutionist may arrange home tutoring, where a tutor visits the student, and online tutoring, conducted through video call or a similar format. This can include tutoring across Primary and middle school, Matric and Intermediate, O Level and A Level, IGCSE, and entry test preparation, as well as subject-specific tutoring. Availability of a particular subject, level, or tutoring format depends on tutor availability at the time of your enquiry. See our homepage for the full range of boards, levels, and subjects we cover.
4. Tutor Matching
When you contact Tutionist, we work to match you with a suitable tutor based on factors such as:
- The student’s grade
- Subject required
- Board or curriculum
- Tutor experience
- Scheduling needs
- Home or online preference
- Male or female tutor preference, where applicable
We do our best to find a tutor who fits your requirements, but we cannot guarantee that every match will be a perfect fit for every family. This is why we offer two free trial classes, described below.
5. Two Free Trial Classes
Every family receives two free trial classes with a matched tutor before committing to regular tuition. These trial classes give you and your child the chance to experience the tutor’s teaching style and confirm that the arrangement suits your child’s needs before any regular tuition begins.
6. Tutor Replacement
If, after the two free trial classes, a parent is not satisfied with the matched tutor, they can let us know. We will work to arrange another suitable tutor based on the student’s requirements, subject, grade or level, and tutor availability at the time. While we make a genuine effort to find a better match, we cannot guarantee that a replacement tutor will always be available immediately.
7. Tuition Fees and Payments
Tuition fees can depend on a number of factors, including the student’s grade, subject, tutor experience, number of weekly sessions, session duration, and whether tutoring is conducted at home or online. Tuition fees are agreed between the parent and the tutor directly and paid to the tutor. Because pricing factors vary from family to family, please contact Tutionist directly for current guidance relevant to your requirements.
As tuition fees are agreed and paid directly between the parent and the tutor, Tutionist is not responsible for resolving payment disputes between a parent and a tutor, though we are happy to assist with communication where helpful.
8. Tutor Registration
Tutionist does not charge tutors a registration or joining fee. Tutors interested in teaching opportunities with Tutionist can find details on how to register, along with our tutor service commission structure, on our Tutor Registration page.
9. Parent Responsibilities
To help us find a suitable tutor, parents are asked to provide accurate information about:
- The student’s grade or class
- Subject required
- Board or curriculum
- Preferred schedule
- General location
- Home or online preference
- Male or female tutor preference, where applicable
Accurate information helps us match your family with the right tutor more quickly. Tutionist is not responsible for delays or mismatches resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided during an enquiry.
10. Tutor Responsibilities
Tutors working with Tutionist are asked to provide accurate information about their name, education, qualifications, teaching experience, subjects taught, relevant board or curriculum experience, and availability. Tutors are expected to conduct themselves professionally with students and families throughout the tutoring arrangement. Tutionist is not responsible for issues arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by a tutor.
11. Student Responsibilities
Students are expected to attend scheduled sessions, participate actively in lessons, complete agreed work between sessions, and treat their tutor with respect. A consistent, engaged approach from the student helps make the tutoring arrangement more effective.
12. Code of Conduct
Parents, students, and tutors are expected to treat each other with respect and professionalism at all times. Any misuse, harassment, or inappropriate conduct by a parent, student, or tutor may result in Tutionist ending its involvement in that arrangement.
13. Scheduling, Cancellation and Rescheduling
Scheduling for tutoring sessions is arranged between the parent, tutor, and Tutionist based on the family’s availability. If a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, parents and tutors should communicate directly regarding the change, or contact Tutionist for assistance.
14. Home Tutoring Arrangements
Home tutoring involves a tutor visiting the student at their home for sessions. While Tutionist takes reasonable steps in matching tutors, as described in Section 4, we are not able to make absolute guarantees regarding every aspect of an in-home arrangement, and we encourage parents to remain involved and communicate any concerns to us directly.
15. Online Tutoring
Online tutoring sessions depend on a stable internet connection, availability of a suitable device, and tutor availability. Technical issues can occasionally affect an online session, and while we aim for a smooth experience, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted technical service at all times.
16. Phone and WhatsApp Communication
Parents, students, and tutors can contact Tutionist by phone or WhatsApp at 0317 6910804. We use this contact point to respond to enquiries, coordinate tutor matching, and follow up on tutoring arrangements.
17. Privacy
Personal information shared with Tutionist is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please refer to that page for details on what information we collect and how it is used.
18. Third-Party Services
Some communication with Tutionist takes place through third-party platforms, such as WhatsApp. These platforms are operated independently of Tutionist and are subject to their own terms of service and privacy practices, which we do not control.
19. Intellectual Property
The Tutionist website, including its text, logo, and other content, belongs to Tutionist unless otherwise stated. Please do not copy or reuse this content without our permission.
20. Limitation of Responsibility
Tutionist acts as a matching and referral service, helping connect families with suitable tutors and supporting the matching and trial process described above. Tutors working through Tutionist operate independently, and the tuition arrangement itself takes place directly between the parent and the tutor. Academic outcomes depend on many factors beyond tutor matching alone, including the student’s effort, attendance, consistency, and how well a particular tutor’s teaching style suits the student. Because of this, Tutionist does not promise or guarantee specific academic results.
21. Changes to These Terms
Tutionist may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time as our services or policies change. Any updates will be posted on this page.
22. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and any disputes arising from them are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
